Two questions

Hi,

1. When playing my clips in the timeline, the timeline is not jumping automatically to the next window, i always have to move with my mouse, is there option or setting for it?

2. When i use "Open in timeline" option, how i can to close the opened timeline after that?

Thanks all.

Thanks all.

Do you mean you expect the timeline window to scroll as the playhead leaves the right edge of the screen?

Yeah, no, FCPX doesn't do that. iMovie does that elegantly. We've been asking for that feature for about ten years.

…

in case you mean 'next clip in the Event browser':

cursor-right

(cursor left for the previousclip)

2nd Q: there's always just one timeline 'open'; the arrows, Russ pointed you to, are more a sort-of 'history' ....

don't get me wrong, but it is essential to teach yourself the nomenclatura of such an app .... eg, FCPX has no 'windows' ...

Its ok 😉

About the first question, David Bogie understood my question and helped me.

About the second question, i need to quit my FCP and then i see only one timeline.

Thank you for trying to help me.

There are no other "open" timelines, only one at a time, and there is no need to "close" them.

What you see is rather a "history" of the timelines you have opened in the current session. That is why when you quit and restart FCP X they are not there.
